Car Dealers
Royal Buick-No thanks- All Talk Cust. Serv.
Budget- I had a terrible experience at Budget auto sales- they were at the Foothills mall one weekend.
The speedway inventory manager and finance manager were the main culprits. They rush you into the sale, lie to you, over price their vehicles and then over charge your loan.
Think twice, listen to their words carefully and dont leave them a blank contract. They ask you questions like how much do you want to pay for the vehicle and then how much of a monthly payment do you want ? And then they move the numbers around to fit that.
Unfortunetly I believe that since I was a woman shopping alone, I got took to the cleaners.I regret the purchase everyday I drive that vehicle.
PLEASE dont get taken like I did. I have already helped a friend out with my story- Budget pulled the same thing with her, fortunetly for her she got a lawyer and she was able to return the vehicle. Read up on Arizona's used car sales laws and contract information. You dont get a time frame to return the vehicle after you sign the contract.
Its fun to get a new car but be careful where you spend your money. I have learned the hard way.

Tucson Dodge
I have a huge complaint with Tucson Dodge. I wrote the General Manager a detailed letter expressing my concerns and over one month later I have still not heard a word from him. He hasnt written or called to apologize. I feel I was taken advantage of more than the average Joe. Sherryl VanCleve

Banks
Having recently moved back here after living for years in a small town where everyone is on a first name basis, including the relationship we had with the presidents and entire staffs of the banks with which we worked. I was absolutely apalled with how rudely I was treated by the Wells Fargo Branch at the corner of Houghton & Broadway while trying to transact some business there for my son. Interspersing every other sentence with "why don't you open an account with us?" What it amounted to was that they wouldn't let me make a deposit to his account because I didn't have an account with them. They had to be kidding! I went across the street to the new M&I Bank and I was truly home again. It's personal banking at it's best! Houghton & Broadway!
As for the sourdough...does anyone out there know where I can get some really great sourdough bread on the northeast side of town? Is there a specialty store I'm missing? jonesmk@cox.net

Auto
I'd like to pass on a positive shopping experience I recently had.
On Valentine's Day this year, I found out that my transmission on my 1999 Buick needed repair. Of course, I immediately paniced when I was told to expect to pay $2500 for the repairs. So for the next couple of days I researched and made phone calls to find out who to take my car to.
One of the biggest problems I find is that often times the person giving you the quote talks to you like you're an idiot and can't comprehend English, so they speak in very general terms and vague dollar amounts. You know, "Just leave it here with us and we'll look it over and let you know when it's done. And just leave us your credit card number". Okay, maybe not that bad, but close.
Luckily I was referred to a great shop - Sharp's Transmission & Auto. Dave Sharp is a responsive and reliable guy. He gives you a firm quote, a specific time frame for completion and will actually discuss the problem with you. When I dropped my car off, Sherry (Dave's wife) was great. She called all over town trying to find me a rental car and finally succeeded.
When I picked up the car (on the day Dave said it would be ready) it was ready, and the final price was within a few dollars of the quote (which Dave told me it would be) and the problem was fixed! I was thrilled.
So if you need work done, call: Sharp's Transmission & Auto @ 798-1428. And you can find them at 2245 N. 13th Avenue, Tucson
